09-27-2007, 3:34 PM DarkPier0692 Joined on 06-10-2007 Posts 2 PSP homebrew in general ok, so, relitively new to the PSP i broke into two brand new PSP's, one for parts, the other for use, (one was already broken) and i thought about how much better the homebrew scene could be for PSP, compared to say the DS, and so far, i have found that the DS's homebrew scene is a lot better, sure the DS lacks a lot compared to the capabilities of the PSP, but it seems like the DS is just easier to mod, there isn't even a mod chip for it because it is so easy, here, PSP users worry about adding a hard drive to their PSP, but it's already been done on the DS, natrium did it, and gave sufficient info, that i was able to do it, and between my PSP and my DS, i still use my DS as my media device, because i can do so much more with it, i can even browse the internet with it via dslinux, and what's better, i can still play all the games they release without worry. So i'm wondering, what are the best homebrew options for the PSP, i havent seen much, and it still seems like homebrew for the PSP is in it's infantile stage.  However, i'm not saying the PSP cant far exceed that of the DS, because as of right now, there's still no way to unbrick a DS. (Kudos to all that were in on the prometheus project)  We need a contest or something to draw people to the PSP homebrew scene    Report

Naturally, the psp is a much more powerful system and because it uses memory sticks, homebrew is very easy to load. The way to get a psp to run homebrew is to downgrade to 1.50 at which point homebrew will run. After that most people upgrade to a custom firmware allowing you to run homebrew and newly released games and recent features. I always thought that the psp was better than the ds for homebrew with everything going on in the scene. I am not saying you are wrong, but the psp is a VERY desirable platform to hack and run homebrew on.    Report
