I read this post and was i saw a different angle on it. why modify the UMD when you could modify a DVD-Rom Drive. Remove components from the psp and apply them to a computer disc drive. If they use the same laser i am sure that the connections are similar enough to allow them to be soldered. I am not sure if entire UMD games could even be boot through a mem stick cause of how sony likes to make the firmware. Depending how what the clearances are the only component that may need to be remove is the motor or the the post the mounts to the motor inside the UMD tray. Of course if you move the motor from the PSP over than it may run on a different voltage/Freq. And a nother thing to speculate is how are you going to get a Blank UMD. I doubt the UMD format is rewritable. If this has already been done and i am jsut behind the power curve lemme know.
