PSP Audio Recorder Beta
Attachment:

Moonlight has released a beta version of a new project he is working on that will enable users to record audio that is played on their PSP from a UMD or homebrew. In the past we have seen several screenshot tools, but no audio capture tools like this. This audio capture program will record the audio that is played by the PSP when you tell it to; allowing you to start and end recording several times. The recordings themselves are saved in WAV format (10mb for 1min) in your PSP/Music directory. With this first release, it allows you to record audio from a UMD or homebrew using L+R+Circle to begin recording and L+R+Square to stop recording. When I ran Lumines from my UMD drive, the PSP appeared to have a bunch of buttons held down. At a second glance, I was not holding any buttons down. This is of course, the only issue with this program at the moment (stability). I began recording at the start of Lumines (second try) and when I went to my PSP/Music directory, I found the recorded file. The sound quality that was recording was excellent; and hopefully I'll be able to dance to some of that great music in Lumines with future releases! With this current release, you can only execute homebrew located in PSP/Game/Homebrew. The author notes a few problems that he has observed with his beta:
While you are recording, the sound that you are currently listening lags. Don't worry, the sound that is being written to the file will be better.
Sometimes, 44 bytes files are written because tha application/game reserve an audio channel but then they don't use it. Those are empty wav files, delete them.
Also, some times games/homebrew output silence to some channels, so you'll end with some wav files that are fully silence.
