Take-Two's Financial Troubles Cause Delays of Next GTA, Possibly Others

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but an upcoming Rockstar/Take-Two game for the PSP is going to be delayed. The publisher of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series has received additional subpoenas seeking more information on its financial practices. This all relates back to the incident that was 'Hot Coffee', an adult mini game included in GTA: San Andreas. The most recent subpoenas request documents regarding stock options and other equity based compensation from November 2001 to the present.

Take-Two said that they would delay their full third-quarter fiscal earnings report until the investigation has been completed. However, they did release a few statistics, including the fact that analysts' prediction for net revenue in Q3 (ended July 31, 2006) was accurate, around $240 million, up from $169.9 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2005, but estimates for profit were too high.

Take-Two also said that a "Rockstar PSP title based on a premier brand" would be pushed back from its Q4 release date. However, Rockstar hasn't announced the title yet which means Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories should be safe. Rumours flying around suggest that the game could be Red Dead Revolver. Lets just hope that the Vice City Stories release stays on schedule.

Un, Deux, Trois: PSX-P Updates

Even if the only French that you know "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir. Voulez vous coucher avec moi" (which If I'm not mistaken means something suggestive), you'd have a good time browsing through PSP Gen.

Especially with updates on the PSOne emulator PSX-P, who would mind the language barrier? According to magiXien, PSP Gen's Site Administrator, Yoshihiro (yes that Yoshiro) came to one of their LAN parties with his latest version of the emulator. Admittedly, there isn't much changes made since the video has been released, except that a small window of opportunity and a glimmer of hope has appeared when he saw Ridge Racer launch (we reiterate on "launch" the FPS isn't much to speak of) using PSX-P.

I leave this quote from magiXien open for interpretation, because the online translation failed to give a comprehensive translation: "Then, as opposed to what I had promised to you, I indeed did not put on line the very first version of this emulator at the request of Yoshihiro because it wishes releaser beta more succeeded a little. The negotiation continues…: -)…

And at the same time, the exit of the downgrader 2.71 seems to have made its office with more than 3000 connected people, at the strongest moment of the evening, on PSPGEN including 784 on the forum. It should be noted that our very new waiter of yesterday after midday, did not support the shock…

Once again, I point out that this adventure is in hand and that the project advances as quickly as possible. The objectives are a challenge and PSP-GENERATION supports the project and our team hopes, like you, that that will succeed."
