PS3 + PSP - Not So Easy?

Well, I got a PS3 on Friday. Good times! BUT what about PS3 + PSP interactivity? They call it "Remote View" on the PS3's menu, as well as on the 3.01 and later PSPs. However, there's NOTHING about how to set up Remote View in the manual! There is a note on the Support forums on http://www.us.playstation.com, but all that does is link to the online manual, which is also missing the PSP support information.

My experience thus far has been this: The Remote View setup is simple on the PSP. The PS3 is an entirely different story. There's a clunky interface for setting up the Remote View functionality. In addition, the Remote View functionality at first only appears to work on infrastructure wireless networks (why?) supporting WPA-PSK with AES. Well, I'm running WPA-PSK with TKIP, so I'm hosed...

I bought another router to try to get the Remote View working. I'm going to try setting that up this weekend. I had a book signing at Fry's today - went great! - so no time today, but maybe before the Colts game Sunday...

So what's up with Sony and the PS3? They had six extra months to try to perfect the system while waiting for the blue laser diodes... By the way, you can eject a game while it's being played and the game will keep playing, just like on the PSP. Also like the PSP, the system will crash if you try going back to the main menu (XMB)... Funny :)

Update from Auri on Sunday, December 10: I'm still waiting for an email back from Sony. I have the acknowledgement email for my Friday email. I want this to work!

Best,
