Using the powerful capabilities of ASP.NET 2.0, you can build a web
site that uses master pages and have it automatically use a
PSP-optimized master page for all PSP-browser requests. This way, you
can easily change your site to send PSP-optimized content to PSPs
without affecting the rest of your site as it is viewed on regular
browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer. When you're done with this
tutorial, you will be able to just have
SonyPSP:MasterPageFile="masterpagefilelocation" in your web forms and
your site will automatically load the PSP-optimized content!
This
tutorial covers everything you need to know about creating .browser
files and how browser configuration files work in .NET. I'm available
to answer any questions you may have.
I've included a PDF with
the tutorial, as well as three .browser files. While reading the
tutorial you'll know which ones to use, although you don't *have* to
use the files I've included.
Note: The main HackingPSP web site at
www.hackingpsp.com is using this (it was the guinea pig for my experiment since this technology is largely undocumented).
Enjoy!
