FrSIRT Rates PSP libTIFF Exploit As "High Risk"

The French Security Incident Response Team has rated the new libTIFF exploit for PSP firmwares 2.00 to 2.80 as a "high risk." What does this mean for PSP owners? Well it means that firmware version 2.81 is on it's way very soon. The being said, if you have any aspirations of continuing to run homebrew on your 2.80 or lower PSP, DON'T UPGRADE TO 2.81 when it is released. Here's what FrSIRT has to say about it...

Technical Description

A vulnerability has been identified in Sony PSP, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary commands. This flaw is due to an error in the Photo Viewer when handling malformed TIFF images using libTIFF, which could be exploited by attackers to compromise a vulnerable device by tricking a user into opening a malicious image.
