The PSP Show #4: Thoughts on Firmware 2.70
The PSP Show Episode 4, part of The Podcast Network, has been released. This MP3 podcasting episode is well worth listening to, as it has some interesting thoughts on the PSP's new
firmware version, 2.7
. Here's whats in this episode:
The new features of firmware 2.7 (Of course), including the new Flash player
Saving podcasts to your memory stick
The loss of homebrew exploits (Due to firmware 2.7), and what this means in the 'bigger picture'
A cynical view on the firmware update
The
Loco Roco demo
, and how Sony used it as a marketing ploy to get people to upgrade to 2.7; and how it worked for Nokia's N-gage.
Some very interesting views on 2.7 here, pay special attention to the loss of homebrew exploits part, especially if your unsure at how 2.7 is effecting homebrew. The section on the Loco Roco marketing ploy is also quite interesting, comparing the PSP to the N-gage.
And look for an interview with a member of the PSPUpdates Staff coming up in a future episode of The PSP Show!
