Portable Software to Soar?
Video Game
Journal's clairvoyant analysts Jason Fraft and Chris Kwak have pulled
out their runes, tea leaves, and crystal balls and made some
predictions as to what some game publishers can expect to rake in over
the next 4 years. According to the future-telling skills of Fraft and
Kwak, "portable software revenue could grow over 140%".
Some of
this is thanks to the prominence of the PSP and DS on the market, and
the fact that these games (especially on the PSP side) are so darned
expensive. All is not peachy for the PSP though, "PSP sales could take
a hit when PS3 and Nintendo Revolution launch. Sony will need to make
PSP an extension of the PS2/PS3; otherwise, the PSP will be another
console-like device and Sony risks cannibalizing PSP with the PS3."
The PS3 might want to have some Tums on hand for that meal...
