Inside a PSP Strategy Epic
Some have
called Sony Online Entertainment's upcoming Field Commander strategy
title 'Advance Wars for PSP'. Next-Gen.biz spoke with the game's
producer Clint Worley. He says the comparison is welcome...
Field Commander, expected to release on April 24 for PSP, aims to fill
the system's turn-based strategy niche by offering Advance
Wars-inspired gameplay in 3D and plenty of multiplayer options
including: a one-system two-player 'hot swap' mode, wireless ad-hoc
multiplayer (sorry, no UMD-sharing), Internet multiplayer and a
'play-by-'e-mail' Transmission Mode.
Worley, who also worked
on Champions: Return to Arms, addresses the issues related to working
with an original IP on the PSP, and comparisons to the premier handheld
strategy franchise, Advance Wars.
