More IIF (Infocom) Games Confirmed Working Under RIN
CaptJello
has emailed PSPUpdates an updated list of the working Infocom Interactive
Fiction (text adventure) games working under the RIN Emulator for the
PSP. Here is the detailed message from him:It
has been a productive day! I have been able to get the following
Infocom Interactive Fiction (text adventure) games working using the
RIN Gameboy emulator:
- Zork I
- Zork II
- Zork III
- Ballyhoo
- Deadline
- Enchanter
- The Lurking Horror
- Infidel
- Moonmist
- Planetfall
- Sorcerer
- Spellbreaker
- Starcross
- Stationfall
- Suspect
- Suspended
- Witness
I
have found it is better to use the DOS utility INFGMB.COM to create the
Gameboy ROMs instead of the DOS COPY command in my earlier message
because it ensures the cartridge header and image size are correct.
Again the INFGMB software with documentation is available [here].
And we all know where to get RIN for PSP =)
Zork
I, II and III are publicly available. For the other Infocom titles,
you'll need to either dust off your old Apple II, Atari, Commodore or
IBM disks, or Google "Infocom games" to find a variety of classic game
retailers.
Credit goes to Martin Korth, author of
INFGMB and Mr. Mirakichi creator of the RIN Gameboy emulator for PSP
and Infocom for producing such great adventure games of the early PC
era.
Thanks to CaptJello for the update.
