EvolutionTV PVR adds iPod, PSP video compression
Miglia Technology on Tuesday announced an update for their EvolutionTV
personal video recorder (PVR) for the Macintosh. The new 2.6 version is
a free update for users of the device, which costs $249.
EvolutionTV hooks up to a Mac using USB 2.0, and enables you to
watch live TV, pause, rewind and skip forward, access online TV guides
and more. The device features built-in hardware compression.
The updated software adds real time video compression for video
iPods and Sony Playstation Portables (PSP), removing the need to go
through software exporting to those devices.
The release of EvolutionTV v2.6 follows a public beta test. Miglia
said that they made some changes in the final release, including an
iTunes integration plug-in, which adds video files to a video iPod
automatically.
